Buoncristiani is four young brothers who grew up in the Napa Valley in a family rich with winemaking tradition. They share a passion and dedication for handcrafting ultra-premium wines. Since establishing the winery in 1999, the brothers have taken pride in performing all aspects of enology, viticulture, wine production, and art design. The Buoncristiani brothers focus on obtaining only the finest fruit through careful vineyard block selection and precise viticultural practices. 2004 Syrah Napa Valley 100% Syrah handcrafted from small lots harvested from three ultra-premium vineyards (Jan Krupp’s Stagecoach Vineyard, Caldwell Vineyard in Coombsville and Larry Hyde’s Syrah Vineyard in Oak Knoll), barrel-aged for 17 months and bottled unfined and unfiltered. Wild berry and blackberry fruit with ripe tannins. Concentrated and complex. 92 points, Wine Spectator 2003 O.P.C. Napa Valley Claret Proprietary red blend: 36% Cabernet Sauvignon, 34% Syrah, 17% Merlot and 13% Malbec. O.P.C. is a family tradition which originated in Tuscany and was brought to the Bay Area in the 1930s. The components of this wine were harvested and fermented separately in small batches then carefully blended in several phases during the second year of barrel aging.
