John Eppler has been in the wine industry since 1974, beginning his career in Texas and moving to Napa Valley in 1986. After working at Robert Mondavi and Rosenblum Cellars, he began production of JRE Wines in 2001. 2005 Zinfandel Dry Creek Valley Aromas of ripe cherry, mocha, white pepper and wildflowers. Flavors are racy and spicy, with concentrated sweet raspberry, blackberry, chocolate, and spice box. Big and chewy. 261 cases. 2005 Zinfandel Tradition Aromas and flavors of raspberries, Bing cherries, sage spice and black pepper. Blended and aged in small oak barrels. 86% Zinfandel, 14% Syrah. 2005 Zinfandel Napa Valley Aged 16 months in French oak barrels. 88% Zinfandel, 12% Petite Syrah. 236 cases. 2006 Late Harvest Zinfandel Alexander Valley Aged 10 months in once-used French oak barrels. 97% Zinfandel, 3% Petite Syrah.
