When he started his own winery in 2004, Scott Harvey brought more
than 25 years’ experience in the industry to a brand-new venture.
With the goal of producing “niche wines that over-deliver” he
focused on his own winemaking roots with Zinfandel, Syrah and
Barbera from the Amador County appellation of the Sierra Mountain
region. The results are wines that are approachable, food friendly
and full of luscious fruit. 2005 Zinfandel Old Vine Reserve, Amador County Grapes for this reserve zinfandel come from vines that are 32 and 81 years old! Late ripening in 2005 let the grapes hang on the vine until late fall, allowing for full-flavor maturity without extreme alcohol levels. Produced in old world style, it balances fruit, French oak and structural tannins. Deep raspberry, allspice, cloves and cinnamon, balanced with a hints of curry, leather and currants. 2005 Barbera Amador County Grown on steep, mountainous terrain in the higher elevations of the county. Black cherry and celery seed blend into a bright center of cola, menthol and red licorice. 96% Barbera, 4% Syrah. 2005 Syrah Amador County Produced in a drinkable, fruit forward, rich style. Well-rounded with firmly structured tannins. Creamy texture with big red berry/cherry fruit. Aromas of blackberry, cedar, blueberry and sweet light oak introduce fresh, bright, spicy flavors. Silver Medal, San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition 2005 Zinfandel Amador County Amador County’s granite soils produce distinctive, earthy, full-bodied Zinfandels. This wine is lively, forward and luscious, with allspice, cloves, bay leaf and holiday spices, as well as raspberry tart and cherry cola.
