“Sensorium” is a word with Old English roots meaning ‘the seat of common sense; that part of the brain where the nerves from the organs of all the senses terminate.’ With grapes from select vineyards in Napa Valley, the Santa Cruz Mountains, and the Central Coast, Sensorium Winery focuses on making wines that engage the senses and reveal themselves in evolving, ever-deepening, and surprising ways. In other words, “wines you can feel.” 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley Unique Cabernet grown in a vineyard high up on the eastern side of Napa Valley on three hillside blocks noted for red soils and good drainage. Elegant and balanced with silky tannins. Notes of cherry and raspberry fruit along with nutmeg, sweet vanilla and cocoa accents from new oak barrels. 226 cases. 89 points, Wine Enthusiast. 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon Santa Cruz Mountains, Uvas Creek Vineyard Uvas Creek is a new, meticulously tended vineyard on the eastern side of the Santa Cruz Mountains. With a nearly ideal 2004 growing season, the wine shows layers of complex dark fruits, oak tones and balanced tannins, with intense aromas of blackberry, currant and cherry and subtle notes of vanilla, toast, smoke and barrel spice. 146 cases. | TOP | |
