Located in the Yorkville Highlands Appellation of Southern Mendocino County, Yorkville Cellars’ two estate vineyards have been CCOF organic certified since 1986 and received the prestigious “Masters of Organics” award. No pesticides, herbicides, fungicides or chemical fertilizers are used and the small, family-run winery produces more award-winning California wines than any other using organically grown grapes! Over the course of the last 6 years Yorkville Cellars has won 198 medals in large national and international wine competitions. 2005 Malbec Rennie Vineyard, Yorkville Highlands Rich aromas of nutmeg, berries, cocoa powder and a hint of earthiness. Solid cherry fruit mid-palate, with restrained tannins to finish. 2005 Merlot Rennie Vineyard, Yorkville Highlands Very aromatic, showing aromas of cherry, spice, brown sugar, and a leafy-leathery note.
